César Chujutalli creates artwork rooted in the culture, stories, and worldview of the Amazonian peoples of Peru. Based in Lima, his work serves as both artistic expression and cultural preservation, inviting viewers to explore traditions, beliefs, and ways of seeing the world that have been passed down through generations.

Although he was born and raised in Lima, César feels a deep connection to his Amazonian roots. That connection has guided much of his artistic journey and continues to shape the subjects that appear throughout his work. Again and again, he returns to the cultures, legends, and spiritual traditions of the Peruvian rainforest, using art as a way to share their beauty with a wider audience.

His relationship with these stories began early in life. César remembers visits with his grandfather's family, where tales of the jungle, personal adventures, and traditional legends were shared. Those moments left a lasting impression. The stories became more than childhood memories—they became part of the creative foundation that continues to inspire his work today.

The jaguar occupies a special place within that visual world. More than a recurring image, it represents a deep respect for the rainforest, its inhabitants, and the cultural traditions that have long regarded the jaguar as a powerful and sacred presence. Through his artwork, César hopes to encourage greater appreciation for both the animal itself and the ecosystems it inhabits.

There is also an educational purpose behind his work. César wants viewers to feel curious about the Amazon and motivated to learn more about the cultures that continue to thrive there. His paintings invite people to look beyond common stereotypes and discover a rich worldview shaped by respect for nature, community, spirituality, and the interconnectedness of all living things.

At a time when traditional knowledge can easily be overlooked or forgotten, César sees art as a way to keep these stories alive. Each piece becomes an opportunity to share cultural memory, celebrate Amazonian identity, and inspire greater care for the rainforest and its future.

Through every painting, César Chujutalli continues to build a bridge between past and present, helping ensure that the voices, wisdom, and legends of the Amazon remain visible for generations to come.
